Education → Camera Settings for Projection Photography

I always shoot in RAW.

I strongly recommend manual mode, starting with these settings:

  • ISO 1000 (depending on the brightness of the image being projected, you’ll need to raise or lower this)

  • 1/200s

If you prefer aperture priority mode, start with these settings:

All other camera settings are as follows:

  • f/2.8 if your lens allows it, otherwise f/4

  • Single point autofocus, eye detection is often confused by projected patterns

  • White balance = 5,000 Kelvin works well with my projectors. the Epson Home Cinema 1060

  • Highlight alert = enable

  • Exposure simulation = enable (mirrorless camera feature)
